A01 Why do I hear TV sound, but see no video display?
Some VGA cards cannot support the Overlay display function. Simply select non-overlay mode in the Record Setting and choose RGB555 dialog box.
A02 Error message: Windows 98SE/ME asks for "TSBYUV.DLL" during the installation of the drivers.
When installing the driver, you may see the system request for a file, named "tsbyuv.dll!ˇL. You can ignore this message. It!|s the limitation of DirectX 9. Because Windows 98/ME doesn't support this file in DirectX 9, but windows XP/2000 does.
A03 Error message: Drivers have not been digitally signed in Windows 2000/XP.
You may get a warning message from Windows XP during installation that says the driver is not XP certified and that it "may cause your system to become unstable." Please do not be alarmed by this standard XP warning message. You should have no problems using this product with Windows XP.
A04 My remote control uses too much CPU Power
We received feedbacks from end-users that the Remote Control Service uses too much CPU Power, in the Task-manager the process !ˇ±lvhidsvc.exe!ˇL reaches up to 99%. If you have the same symptoms, please download from our driver section a patch file for the remote control, which corrects this problem.
FlyTV Prime
FlyTV Platinum
A05 Why I can't see any picture while capture?
Check graphics card display settings, try both 16bit and 24bit high color, 800*600 Resolution
A06 What can I do when the TV card hangs or conflicts are shown in device manager?
If your computer behaves erratically, or locks up when starting the TV software, you are having some kind of device or resource conflict. Conflicts can be caused by different sources; here are some of the following known problems, and their solutions:

* TV card is sharing an IRQ with another device in the system
While our card can sometimes share IRQ's with some display adapter cards, our card cannot share IRQ's with other devices, such as with a sound card, USB port, Network card, etc. You need to resolve the IRQ sharing problem by getting our card to use its own IRQ. If you do not have any free IRQ!|s left in the system, our product will not work, until an IRQ is made available, by disabling some other device which is using an IRQ.
The easiest way to get our card to have new resources assigned to it is by physically moving the card to any other PCI slot. In doing so, Windows Plug n Play will redetect the hardware, and attempt to re-install it, and re-assign the IRQ, memory range etc...
* TV card starts, but all I get is green lines, or my desktop background shows through the TV window
This also indicates a conflict or sharing problem, most likely with the display adapter. Again, try moving the card to another PCI slot to resolve the problem, or disable some other resources.

A07 Why I can't record sound but see the picture?
Please download the User manual from our website and refer to Chapter 3.6 for the correct settings
A08 What Operating Systems (O/S) does your FlyTV Prime/Platinum support?
Now the installation CD disk only provides the WDM driver for WindowsR98SE, ME, 2000 and XP. If you seek other operating system drivers, please see our website
A09
What can I do, when I get horizontal lines on my screen when watching TV?

1. This could have to do with the bandwidth on the PCI bus. Place the card
closest to the PCI busmaster slot or place it closest to the AGP slot, but
try to avoid PCI slot 1
2. There are some BIOS setting that you can change to get better performance. It should be noted that you might not have all these settings. There are also a number of various bios setups available, you should consult the documentation that came with your system for information on properly navigating your bios.

1.
Assign IRQ to VGA (enabled, disabled)
For the PCTV to work with the graphics card this IRQ has to be enabled.
2.
PCI Master 0 Write Waitstate (enabled, disabled)
should the PCTV not function correctly, try switching this option. Enabling write waitstates slightly slows downthe PCI write access, which might help solving problems with stability on some motherboards. Disabling writewaitstates is faster but might cause problems.
3.
IRQ Activated By (edge, level)
For modern PCI cards (like the FlyTV Prime/Platinum 3X) this option should be "level".
4.
PCI Latency Timer (N)
Trying a higher value can help if you get "noise" or stripes in the TV picture if this not related to a bad reception
5. PCI Peer Concurrency (enabled, disabled)
If the PCTV does not run stable, test if switching this option helps.
6 CPU to PCI Write Buffer (enabled, disabled)
If the PCTV does not run stable, test if switching this option helps.
7. USB Controller (enabled, disabled)
With some motherboards USB and AGP are "internally connected", should this be the case the USB controller on the motherboard has to be enabled for the AGP-mainboard drivers to work correctly.
8. Use USB IRQ (enabled, disabled)
If this option can be found in the bios settings, enable the USB IRQ to fully activate the USB controller.
9. CPU to PCI Write Buffer (enabled, disabled) should the TVR crash
during operation ,test if switching this option helps
A10 Why I don't hear any sound, but see a TV picture, when I use the audio cable?
First make sure that the audio out from the TV Card is connected to the line in on your sound card.
Next, make sure that your Windows mixer settings are set correctly. You can check for this by double-clicking on the speaker icon next to the clock in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Make sure all the appropriate levels are set about 3/4 the way to the top. You can also click on Options - Properties - Recording and then set these levels the same.
You may have to recapture your video.
This settings are not necessary when chose !ˇ±None!ˇL in the Audio settings
A11 What can I do, when the audio is sometimes disappearing after 1 minute?
This is a very common problem with many TV tuner cards. It doesn't matter which card you have or which software you are using. If you are experiencing any of these problems while using your TV card:
- the video freezes or goes funky after x number of minutes
- the audio goes mute after x number of minutes
- channel randomly switches to another after x number of minutes
and you have Norton Antivirus 2003 and Microsoft MSN Messenger running on your PC, these 2 programs are probably causing it.
To get rid of these problems, try this:
First, disable all Instant Messenger protection options in NAV 2003 and see if the problem goes away.
If not, then Messenger might be the culprit. Things can get tricky from here. You can update Messenger (this can sometimes solve the problem), disable Messenger (the easiest way is to rename the Messenger folder), or uninstall messenger all together.
A12 How to get a better picture quality when watching TV?
Referring to Chapter 5.4 Record Settings Dialog Box (Page 15) of the User manual, the settings you define here are also valid for the Preview Settings.
When your TV Card supports Overlay Mode, choose here YUY2.
With an overlay mode, the video signal is transferred into an invisible part of the graphics board memory. The graphics board will then take care of the image and make sure that it gets transferred to the right place in the visible part of the memory. Not all graphics boards have this feature and thus may not allow an overlay mode.
The drawback of a primary mode is that your graphics board has to be set to at least 16-bits per pixel color depth. Primary mode also requires more bandwidth on the PCI bus and some graphics boards show distortions of the video display, especially when using 32 bits per pixel color depth. And finally, a menu or other window covering the primary surface video display may get overwritten under certain circumstances.
